A Note From Us

Rustic Nest is family-owned. We hold to old-school values while using modern technology to give our customers the best possible experience and service. Your safety, your trust, and your privacy are among our highest priorities.

Some of what follows here is necessarily technical and legal — and most people won't read it. So here's the straight-talk version of our privacy policy:

  • We only ask for what we need — enough to take your order, ship it to you, and reach you if there's an issue.
  • We keep it only as long as we need it — either to serve you (supporting your account, honoring your warranty, processing a return) or to meet our legal obligations (tax records, for example). If we don't need it to serve you and the law doesn't require us to keep it, we delete it.
  • We take security seriously. We use industry-standard encryption, we never see or store your credit card number, and we work only with payment providers that meet the highest security certifications.
  • We won't email you unless you ask us to.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

Your privacy matters to us. We treat it as if it were our own.

Payment card information is processed directly by our payment providers (Shopify Payments and PayPal) and is not stored on our servers.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our Site, we automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, time spent on pages, referring website, and general geographic location (city or region level).

Information from third parties. We may receive information from third-party services we use to operate our business, including shipping carriers (for delivery tracking), Etsy (for orders placed through our Etsy shop), and analytics providers.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously.

Your connection to our Site is encrypted using industry-standard TLS (the same technology banks use for online banking). Account passwords are stored using one-way cryptographic hashing, which means even we cannot see your password.

We never see or store your credit card number. Payment information is handled directly by Shopify Payments and PayPal — payment providers who specialize in financial data security and meet the highest industry certifications (PCI-DSS Level 1). Because we never handle your card data ourselves, a breach of Rustic Nest systems cannot expose your payment information.

Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as we need it — either to serve you (supporting your account, honoring your warranty, processing a return, answering a question about a past order) or to meet our legal obligations (tax records, for example, must be kept for seven years under U.S. law).

If we don't need your information to serve you, and the law doesn't require us to keep it, we delete it. When information is deleted, it is either securely removed from our systems or anonymized so it can no longer be connected to you.

Children's Privacy

Rustic Nest products are intended for adult customers. Our Site is not designed for or directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@rusticnesthomedecor.com and we will promptly delete it.

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any website you visit.

Changes to This Policy
